hTesla High Frequency Lighting
Great interest has been taken into recreating the experiments done by Nikola Tesla on high frequency illumination systems. This is done so, by employing alternate currents of high frequency via a high frequency alternator, to a transformer of suitable dimensions. The Bulb apparatus is similar to that of an ordinary Edison lamp, except the filament may only take on the shape of a single thin wire, or may be void of anything metallic. The glass envelope is exhausted to as much of a degree as possible, and is brought to illumination by rapid alternations of great magnitude.
The above photograph pictures a blown out sphere which will be exhausted to approximately 0.00007 torr. Tesla does not specifically describe the ultimate vacuum pressure of operation, yet a Sprengel Pump of his time would achieve a similar vacuum pressure value. Attempting to achieve any further pressure would require extensive vacuum pump equipment, requiring further financial expenses.
In order to provide sufficient power and frequency to a series of coils, a 384 pole alternator of unconventional proportions must be constructed.
More information is to come, when such apparatuses have been fully constructed.
