Technical Report No.2 – Book

As the engineering realm of radio frequency has continued to expand through the experimentation of both professional and amateur form, a continuing uncertainty in accurately predicting the electrical characteristics of R.F. coils has maintained itself. That is, the construction of coils intended for radio communication or high voltage operation.

Present methods of mathematical determination for predicting the behavior of a single-layer air wound coil are limited to formulae which provide solely general values, independent of the influence of a coil’s winding form, conductor characteristics, geometry, etc. This yields significant error when measurements involving frequency are undertaken on the coil’s final design.

Technical Report No.2 outlines a new approach to predicting the electrical properties of a given single-layer air wound coil design, while producing greater accuracy and techniques to increase overall electrical efficiency. This report involves simplistic algebraic formulae which has been derived from meticulous experimental research, providing the experimenter greater control.
